Located less than an hour away from Athens, the city of Chalkis and the surrounding area is a very popular destination during the spring and summer months. It is well organized to accommodate tourists and summer home residents with many hotels, night clubs, seaside cafes and restaurants, as well as a number of beaches close by. Chalkis attracts a large Athenian crowd for more than six months out of the year; the "Chalkis Water Ski Center" is a high traffic spot during the nine months it operates.
The "Chalkis Water Ski Center" is located on the south bay of the city, close to the well known "Old" bridge. The bay is well protected from the wind from all directions. The friendly north-west breeze, most common in the area, creates ideal conditions in two of the three slalom courses, while the third course is set up to accommodate skiing when the wind comes from the south. Access to the ski club is easy by car or train. A 70 km drive from Athens, most on national highway, or a comfortable ride in the Athens-Chalkis commuter train, bring you to the pleasant, landscaped environment of the club and the chance to ski in the best sea water conditions of the area. Single day trips are the preferred option of many of our guests, either in the morning or late in the afternoon (combined with a seafood dinner and clubbing).
The "Chalkis Water Ski Center" operates 7 days a week from 8:30 in the morning until the sun goes down. You can see pictures of the club in the gallery section. It is ideal for someone who wants to train in or learn water skiing while having a relaxing holiday.
