The Chalkis Water Ski Center was established in 1991 by Vangelis Papakirykos. Located less than an hour away from Athens, the city of Chalkis and the surrounding area is a very popular destination during the spring and summer months.

Kaiafas Lake was the site of the 1997 European Championships and is often visited by international water skiing champions such as Glenn Campbell, Chris Parrish & Natalie Hamrick.
Kaiafas is a thermal spring lake in the southernmost part of Europe.
